If you’ve googled “free anti-virus” or similar, it’s likely that you were taken to comparison sites that haven’t been updated in years. The purpose of this post is to inform you of the free anti-virus choices available right now, that tend to be the most popular; and any comments we may have.

#1 AVG Free

Rated 5/5 Stars by CNET, AVG Free is definitely worth looking at.

#2 Microsoft Security Essentials

Remember One Live Care? R.I.P. Microsoft has now released “Security Essentials” which is basically the newer (and FREE) version of its previous anti-virus software. It has a very small footprint and low memory usage. It requires very little to no user interaction to function.

– Stay tuned, more to come.
